1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Honest Local Pros (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Honest Local Pros is a directory and networking platform that connects local professionals through trusted community groups. Features include public professional listings, group membership management, and optional subscription support.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You may not share your account or impersonate another person.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Content & Listings

• You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile info, business details, photos).
• By posting content, you grant us a license to display it on the Platform as intended.
• You may not post false, misleading, defamatory, or illegal content.
• We may remove content that violates these terms or harms the community.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• Optional subscriptions are processed through Stripe.
• Subscription fees are charged in advance. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.
• Upgrades or downgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing.
• All charges are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Group Memberships & Admin Roles

Group owners may invite co-admins to help manage their group. Co-admins have elevated permissions including editing group details and managing member approvals. Owners remain ultimately responsible for their group’s conduct.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose.
• Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data systematically without permission.
• Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these terms. You may also delete your account at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of professional listings or the quality of services offered by members. Users are responsible for verifying credentials and conducting their own due diligence.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Honest Local Pros shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles.
